LEFT

4th Semester

“LEFT” started with the assignment to develop a concept for a game that could be played on a mobile platform. I worked with three fellow students to create the concept for a story-driven platforming / puzzle game.

In LEFT, you follow the robot R0b.1n on his adventure. A sudden realization lets R0b.1n gain self-awareness and leads him to explore what happens if he turns around and moves against the mainstream of his world. This is a twist on side scrolling games in general, as most have the player progress from the left of the screen to the right. In our game, the player must go to the left and overcome obstacles that seem to be designed for left-to-right progression at the first glance. We wrote a game design document and created an animated trailer to convey our vision.
I loved creating the concepts of how a player would interact with such a reversed world and thinking about how we could create challenge without creating confusion.

My contribution: Concept, Music Production, 3D Animation (trailer intro), Compositing.
